The smell of disease is rancid in the streets, but you are the Plague Doctor. All you smell are the fresh lemon balm and rose hips in your mask, protecting you from the lethal miasma of the dying.

The Plague Doctor Mask is your protection from the dangers of the world's illness, shielding you just as a knight's armor protects him from a fatal strike. To everyone else, you are a symbol of knowledge and healing...but also the harbinger of death. Looking into the blackness of your mask's eyes feels like exposing one's soul, and so even your patients harbor fear at your presence.

DETAILS
With an adjustable leather strap and two fabric ties, Epic Armoury’s Plague Doctor Mask is made to fit anyone. Made from natural full-grain quality leather and sturdy stitching, this is a product that can withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather care. And with the colour dyed into the material, it has a particularly fine finish.

Available in Brown and Black. One size fits all.

HISTORY
Originally designed in 17th century Europe by Charles de L’Orme Worn by “Plague Doctors” who took care of the sick and dying Long beak-like nose was filled with herbs and straw to filter out the "bad air"

Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay flexible and to increase life-time. Make sure your leather products are kept dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating. If frequently wet and dry, increase frequency of maintenance.

CLEANING
Clean by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub on leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.

CONDITIONING
You should always condition leather after cleaning, since the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax polish with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or polish in circles into the leather. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove any excess residue.
