You are a citizen of the Roman Empire, and a professional heavy infantryman of the Roman Army. You enlisted in your legion for twenty-five years of service, and you are both relieved and anxious to know you have only a few years left.

As you double-check that your military-issued Roman Shoulder Armour is secure, you feel prepared alongside your fellow soldiers to go into battle. You just hope that your training will continue to serve you well. At the very least, you have confidence in the durability of your armour.

DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Roman Shoulder Armour are Ancient Roman inspired shoulder guards designed to deflect blows away from the shoulder and head. Made from vegetable-tanned full-grain leather and heavy cotton canvas, this armour is also reinforced with extra leather and stitching around the edges to preserve its shape with long use. Along the outer rim, the Roman Shoulder Armour is decorated with slim leather and heavy canvas straps overhanging the upper arms to offer protection and excellent mobility.

Secure the Roman Shoulder Armour to your existing cuirass or chainmail using strong leather cords at the shoulder. The style is fitting for a Roman infantryman or legionnaire, and is fully compatible with other Epic Armoury leather and metal armours, giving you the freedom to customize your costume.

Available in One Size.

HISTORY
Also called a manicula in Latin Typically worn with a spear, large shield, helmet, and chainmail

Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay flexible and to increase life-time. Make sure your leather products are kept dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating. If frequently wet and dry, increase frequency of maintenance.

CLEANING
Clean by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub on leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.

CONDITIONING
You should always condition leather after cleaning, since the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax polish with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or polish in circles into the leather. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove any excess residue.
